Specialist for Linux operating systems (m/f)

In the Managed Services Databases team

You will expect this tasks:

  • Administration of Linux servers (rpm- and deb-based) on x86_64 and Oracle hardware according to ITIL processes
  • responsible for the automation (e.g. with Ansible)
  • Administration of Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Server and Oracle Storage.
  • Support and further development of our managed service tools (monitoring and ticket system)
  • Implementation of security scans and corresponding implementation of various security parameters
  • Targeted analysis and correction of problems and error messages
  • Change and Incident Management
  • system administrative activities on customer systems (e.g. server installation / updates / patches in the Linux / Unix environment, storage and network)

What you already bring with you:

  • A successfully completed IT degree or a successfully completed IT-related vocational training and at least 3 years of professional experience
  • extensive experience with Linux operating systems (e.g .: Oracle Linux, RedHat Enterprise Linux)
  • fluent knowledge of German language
  • English skills
  • Teamwork and high motivation
  • high level of commitment and willingness to learn

Ideally, you already have experience in the following areas:

  • Support and administration of Oracle hardware
  • Administration of the OTRS ticket system
  • Supervision and responsibility for monitoring systems (check_MK, Nagios or Oracle Cloud Control)
  • Conception, construction and operation of Linux high availability systems
  • Virtualization (e.g. Proxmox VE, VMware, KVM, Oracle KVM, Oracle VM)
  • Participation in complex project tasks
  • Bash scripting as well as in programming languages, e.g. Perl, python, or Java
  • Oracle Grid Infrastructure and ASM
  • Administration of application servers (e.g. Tomcat, Glassfisch, Oracle Weblogic, Oracle Appl. Server, etc.)
